I have another question, how often or on average can the ethanol content vary in the injection calculation?
Because it is not uncommon to notice errors in reading the ethanol sensor over a few ms.
This is why we want to lock the ethanol content value at high load and high rpm.
In theory, the readings should be stable. Maybe there should be some kind of filter. We need to discuss it with the team.
What is exactly your issue ? I would prefer makes things as simple as possible.
The ethanol content is used continously so if any fluctuation occurs it will affect fuel dose and ignition timing.
Ok thank you, I have the answer to my question.
For example this could be a filter which averages over “X” seconds, with the variable “X” which can be defined by the user, or better TPS or RPM table (but I know that memory is limited). The filter will probably have to be desable when starting the engine.
I’ve been running my flex sensor on the return side since I could turn off readings when going to higher tps and aerating the fuel I could ignore the reading.
On some cars flex fuel sensor is located on the return line, at high load high rpm the readings are affected by aeration (ethanol content reading declines) and this leans out the afr.
I would prefer to be able to lock ethanol content reading at certain rpm to avoid this issue.
It is better to lock the ethanol content on an average and not a single sample for added safety.
After between two fast gear changes (TPS 100 to 0 to 100%), the value of the ethanol content sensor may not be reliable…
