Hi all. As this is my first crack at a stand-alone ECU (EMU Classic), I thought it might be good to start this intro-thread for any Jeepers out there who have done, or are looking to do similar (and for anyone generally interested too of course).
So briefly; The stroker is a complete new build. Aside from the increased capacity, it has a fairly aggressive flat-tappet cam (216/228@.050", LC 112) and significant porting. And with an auto-to-manual swap as well, the Jeep OBD1 was not going to cope at all.
Using a 4-notch flywheel from a '96 Wrangler, I’m understanding the CPS won’t be able to provide much to the EMU, so the cam sensor in the distributor will provide for fuel sequencing.
I plan to run a few different maps (valet, economy, & tyre-shred modes) and maybe later add a dry nitrous (forged balanced internals, larger ring gaps). Additionally, I want to make use of the Jeep’s ABS wheel sensors for tuning-based traction control & launch control.
I know this projects\'s a little different (must be the Jeep thing
); advice and suggestions are welcome. And as I progress, I’ll of course share whatever might be useful and do my best to answer questions from my experiences for others following with projects that may have similar unique aspects or peculiarities. Cheers.
