In our endurance race car we currently have a separate 4G data telemetry unit, that shares vehicle information to the pits. This is done via a 3rd party user interface, which is not fantastic to use, and has issues with connectivity.
As our car in now being updated to use the full spread of ECU Master products (Pro 8, ADU 7, PMU16), I would be interested to know if there is any future plan to offer a native live telemetry option? Direct USB C (power and high-speed data) into a mobile phone app, then directly into a live portion of the Data Master software would seem like a nice way of doing this cheaply?
Be interested to know if it’s on the ‘to-do’ list. Thanks
We worked on a telemetry system. Internship project.
But the problem for us was server side. We had a good database running but the guys who wanted the help with setting up a perfect database server and first gui never started.
In the same position as you. Full ECU Master kit with 3rd party telemetry. Unfortunately the telemetry software just doesn’t cut it so just wait to use Data Master instead.
Currently we use lap time/sector time and monitor important power train data; temps, pressures RPM, EGT and raised DCTs/errors, fuel usage. Most don’t need to be at a high data rate, 5- 10 hz for most things is fine. maybe a little higher for RPM. We use it mostly to monitor vehicle condition over an 8hr race.
