New software 3.048 available!

It would consume 8 additional log channels, what is a quite precious resource for the future software improvements.

It works a litle bit different, as the primary goal of knock sensor is to reduce knock as fast as possible. The base map should be make carefully, because knock is very dangerous condition and should be strongly avoided.

Here is how it works:

n every engine cycle, for each cylinder where the knock level is greater than zero, the value of Knock Ignition Retard is increased proportionally to the Ignition Retard Rate.

If (Knock level > 0)
{

Knock ignition retard = Knock ignition retard + Knock level * Ignition retard rate

if ( Knock ignition retard > Max ignition retard) Knock ignition retard = Max ignition retard

}
else every Knock restore rate engine cycles
{

Knock ignition retard = Knock ignition retard - 1

}

And what is the most imprtant the Knock level = Sensor voltage - Knock engine noise

I’ve look at your log and know was detected on many cylinders:

Those settings are from working engine. I will ask our engine engeneers about it.
Thank you for your comment.

Is it possible to add 2d PID for VVT and Boost? PID vs RPM

Thank you for the detailed explanation.

After listening to your explanation, I’m wondering if it might be different from the ā€˜traditional’ setup method I’m assuming.

I wanted to use EngineNoiseMAP to distinguish whether it is noise or knock, and to determine the magnitude of the knock by the height of the threshold.

In this strategy, the sensed knock signal is considered to be ā€˜knocking’, but if you adjust the base map so that it almost never occurs, you’ll end up with an engine that doesn’t feel very energetic.
If I want to allow a certain amount of light knocking and avoid knocking with a small retard, what kind of setting direction should I use?

By the way, I looked inside the engine with a scope and found no problems.

Are KnockVoltagePeak1-4 in the log channel raw data that doesn’t take into account the knock window?

If I want to increase KnockLevelPeak, which should I prioritize: Integrator or Gain?

Wondering what I should select for Secondary Trigger and Cam 2 Trigger for a VW R32? In V2 there was a VW R32 4 Tooth option.

Its 1 5 3 6 2 4
100%

agree, i was first who pointed this out

Speed sorted , just a small setting that was enabled aswell

is it possible to adjust the threshold of the knock level peak to check engine light? in my log i see a knock voltage of 2volts, so no knock at all, but the knock level peak reads 0.02v and turns on my check engine light for engine protection information. thats really anoying :slight_smile:

Would it be possible to have a pedal position vs throttle position in the DBW characteristic setup?

Hi.

Is logging available to the customer when password protection is activated like in the V2 software ? If so how do you go past the password dialog box ?

thank you

@Jadzwin_ECUMASTER I used the importer on my v2 map,
evo 8 running oem wasted spark, it imported to run sequential firing order, and the firing order to run 1-2-1-2 is this correct?
Previously I had v3 ā€œrunningā€ with wasted spark selected and the ign outputs selected as 1-1, 2-2, 3-2, 4-1.
Firing order was 3421.
Seems the importer switched this around based on my v2 map, I never felt like the version I made fired quite right but it ran.

Can you confirm if what the importer did is the correct way to do this?
Thanks

In waste spark the coils need to fired alternately so 1-2-1-2 sounds good for me.
What was the firing order after import ?
Did the engine start ?

Not yet. It will be avaialble in later builds.

It is already sorted and the proper settings will be available in next build

I will think about it to find a good solution.

So after import the firing order was sequential with 1-2-1-2
Before I had 3421 but selected wasted spark, I had the car running like this last year with v3 but it never seemed quite right, I havent tried this yet just now going through my imported version vs the version I made previously to carry over what tables I couldn’t import
