I recently sent my emu black in for repair a couple of months ago for the USB port repair. I just got it back, and now the car has no spark. I have spark when I do an output test, but none while cranking. i see the tach signal while cranking but still no spark. I’ve done a trigger test, i seen signal, but not sure what I am looking at. I’ve also checked for voltage (12 volts) at the coil and good ground. any ideas what i can be?
Check the voltage during cranking.
If the battery is flat there could be no spark.
If there is spark during outout test, the outputs are working good.
I found that the original primary trigger setting, “toothed wheel with 2 missing teeth,” no longer works for me. I only have Spark now on “multi-toothed.” Engine is question is a Toyota 3SGTE 36-2 trigger. Could someone explain to me how this can happen?
Looks like a issue with the cam sync.
Without the scope log and your settings hard to answer this question
MR2 1172026 NO START.emub (146.0 KB)
multitooth log 3 1172026.emublog (169.5 KB)
For sure the settings from your no start map is wrong.
What was your last working calibration before sending for repair ?
From the log I can see that EMU reads primary and secodnarty trigger.
Also make a scope and publish file with the calibration that worked for you before.
I’ve checked shielding wire and have isolated the primary trigger wire and i am still having this noise. ive tried a different crank sensor and still the same issue. The vehicle was parked running. Not sure why I’m having this problem now.
Try to activate filter “LOW” for primarty trigger and / or 4K7 pullup or pulldown (check what will work).
i has able to get it to work 1k pulldown, medium filter, 85%. strange that this has change but am happy now that the car is back running. thank you for the help
