Hi, hope some can help. My tuner has not set up emu black on a cosworth yb turbo b4. We cant get it to fire up. Its running kop and using starndard 4 point crank pulley for primary trigger. Distributor phase sensor for the cam 1 trigger. Its shows sync’d when cranking an we have a spark. There must be a setting we have missed as it doesn’t even fire. Anyone used this set up or have a start up map possibly? Contacted emu support and they sent me a map with most parameters unchecked, so no use to anybody. Thanks
Have you checked base timing with a timing light? can you post your current map for us to see the settings etc?
a 4 tooth primary trigger is not ideal, is it possible to get a 36 or even 12 tooth wheel in there?
hi,yes had a timing light on it, it seemed we we 180 out too start with, we did have it firing and popping/locking
up at first, think he had the coil output offset on the wrong setting it now set to 0.
should not need a pull up resistor for a VR sensor
The crank pulley has a 4 tooth sensor and the cam has a 2 tooth (un even spacing?)
I don’t think N+1 is the correct trigger, I believe it needs at least 3 teeth to function correctly, I’d change to a 1 tooth with a window (advanced filter) or better yet grind off a tooth
IMO that’s a lot of cranking fuel, have you tried de-flooding by opening the throttle all the way when cranking?
Post the entire tune and log of a start attempt please
Thanks, switched to a 36-1 tooth crank pulley ,up and running now. Had my first drive yesterday awesome
