I added this to the to do list. The only problem is that lambda on idle impacts the idle RPM a lot. So for tuning Idle active state air table you need to have very good lambda in all temperature and idle RPM range.
I think its wasting of your time. Its pretty straight forward for adjusting that table and who is lazy or not able do it, will not be able to utilize some automatic function effectively anyway, no offense. I tried to rise before, that armed/inactive tables have no lookup for temperature/target rpm , they are not helping during warmup, so idle tends to dip no matter how precise active state table is(only cure is to have higher rpm target).
For the next build there will be CLT correction for armed airflow table.
My requests for the V3 would be these for the moment:
- Fuelling → Corrections → IAT user Correction. "This table applies a lambda target alteration not a simple % IAT Correction, needs a table similar to Warmup → Lambda Target Correction 1 which is in Lambda Units. Or a better description in the help menu or simply to not change my Lambda target Values (im guessing all these tables on this tree alters Lambda but i havent had time to test)…
- Removal of displaying the refresh rate of logging from the Graph (50hz 25hz etc), takes up real estate screen and adds up to the long confusing description on top of the graphs , you can put this information in the set log channel menu. Displaying the hz value doesnt change the tickrate of the graph anyway…
- IDLE function is not enabled and doesnt use “Target Ignition Angle” and the other tables UNLESS you do not activate an AIRFLOW ACTUATOR… that not sensible because it cancels the IDLE ignition corrections. (Green Indication light on the bottom of the software also never lights up if you dont choose an actuator)
When you dont choose an “Airflow actuator” it grabs the ignition from the “inactive state Airflow”, had to bite my nails to find out wth was going on…
3b) Also having to setup your idle actuator under a menu thats called “Airflow” is a bit retarded since the whole IDLE menu is enabled only when you choose an actuator you could have put tthe idle actuator choice menu together with the Idle → Activation menu… Since only with actuator you… activate IDLE functions… V2 had a more compact IDLE menu and less confusing titles

Engine Protection → Fuel Pressure protection doesnt work because the Fuel Pressure error is not activated UNLESS you choose the option from Fueling → General → Fuel Pressure Regulator → Map Referenced + Fuel Pressure sensor. BUT when you choose anything there with Fuel Pressure sensor, makes also an ALTERATION of the fuel Dose calculation. I would like to have the fuel pressure protection enabled without having to change my fuel dose. The V2 firmware would calculate the Fuel Pressure Error no matter what you have enabled or not. Altering fuel dose based on the Fuel pressure signal is annoying because its usually noisy and unpredictable and usually makes AFR more unstable than stable.
(Similar software improvement you made after my request with the battery Filter i requested because classic and black had spiky battery calculation and made fuel injection dose really shaky especially on idle.) -
On the Tune Display when you right click to choose the channel, i would like the Grid choice to be last in the list, not first…
It would be nice to have a manifold temp sensor to be able to be used to calculate charge temp, rather than just coolant temp. In my case the inlet manifold doesn’t really get heat soaked during normal driving, but does if the car has been parked hot, (or in the queue for a hillclimb for that matter.) I have a pre-throttle plate bosch IAT sensor, and the OEM one in the manifold, that sensor gets heat soaked and is very slow to cool down, so a combination of these two sensors would be a better measure of charge temp rather than coolant temp.

I found this very ambiguous… In Version 2 under ignition outputs it lists ignition events, whereas in version 3 it lists cylinders, but - it really means ignition events, Where is says cylinder 2, is really ignition event 2, which in my case, is on cylinder 3… I think this could really trip people up. Here is a screenshot from v2, and v3

as simple as that
Because it’s using wasted spark, so cylinders 1 and 4 use the same coil, and cylinders 2 and 3 use the same coil… Firing order 1,3,4,2… SO the fact the car is running (using the V3 settings), and competing, and has been for several months, using these settings above, mean that what’s showing above isn’t correct… If it was, cylinder 2,3 and 4 would be firing just before BDC, rather than TDC… Happy to be wrong, but you’ll have to explain why ![]()
This v3 map was originally imported from a v2 map, before I spent a lot of time tuning it, so it’s a direct comparison of the same settings in the screenshots.
V3 uses firing order not ignition events. So the table naming conversion is correct.
If you have less coils than cylinders (wasted spark) it is a little tricky as you need to double one coil for 2 cylinders.
