Wheel Speed to CAN - ABS sensors

Hi All,

Struggling with a bit of a weird issue, I’ve installed a ‘Wheel Speed to CAN’ adapter and connected it to my ABS wiring in series with the ABS computer,
Everything works perfectly independently, device is powered up and configured, it registers speeds accurately, speeds are even across all sensors and the signal is stable.

my real issue is, this only works when the ABS computer is disconnected.
When connected, my ABS system works properly, but the wheelspeed2can adapter doesn’t register anything from the sensors. (as if they’re disconnected entirely)
I disconnect the ABS computer and the sensors come back immediately.

Is there something I’m forgetting to enable/disable on the device? or is this hardware related?

Car is an R34 GTT

Hi,
Did you follow the instructions in the manual for checking the ABS sensor connections variant?

There are two ways of connecting the sensor, and depending on the specific ABS unit, only one is correct.

You also should have pull resistors disabled in the WheelSpeed module when using it in parallel with ABS.

Try changing the sensitivity and turning on double gain with the connected ABS module

Iread the instructions assuming that my sensors were a two-pin VR sensor due to the age and design, but after going back and looking a bit more into it, i might possibly(?) have a two pin MR sensor instead (ground on the mounting bolt?)

Probing the sensor when connected to the ABS system while parked and idling, I get +0.21v to 0.26v on the +ve sensor rail and 0v on the -ve sensor rail (DC)

would this just be a low condition for a MR sensor? or is this standard for VR sensors?

Mr sensor are two wire not need ground just 12v supply and output which normally is current output but with sufficient pulldown you can see them.
check resistance across pins if this will tell you if is vr or MR sensor
