Wideband gauge connection to emu black

Hello Everyone,

Car: 2005 lotus elise (cable throttle)
ecu: emu black with plug and play harness

I am in search of how I would be able to use my aem x-series wideband gauge as an actual gauge to monitor afrs in the cabin of my lotus.

  1. How would I wire in the gauge so the emu black sends it the afr readings?
  2. Or would I need to use the aem xseries with the wideband and wire in the ouputs of the gauge to the emu black?

its better for a few reasons to have the wideband directly into the ECU.
The AEM does not accept an input, so the easiest option is to run 2 sensors.

I always try and talk my customers out of having a wideband gauge in the car. You are busy driving, not watching a gauge. Let the ecu do its job and review logs periodically to keep peace of mind.

Why do you not use the +5V linear output from the AEM to the EMU Black as external WBG input ?

Thanks for the info, im not staring at it, but it is a nice piece of mind.

Hey Prensel, thats exactly what I ended up doing and it’s working great.

Good that is my intention too. Seems the easiest way since there is already a LSU4.9 installed from the AEM, why no reuse it. Did you consider about adding GPS/G-sensor capabilities also btw ?

Hi, I have the same issue. How did you sort it out? Did you connect the 5V output from the AEM (white cable) to any analog input on the ECU, and then add an external controller in the software?

Hey Flavio,

I used the external controller option in the oxygen sensor setup, and assigned the external controller input an analog input. The external input option shows after you choose the external controller as the sensor type.

thanks for the replay, I will try tomorrow, Did you just pull the white cable from AEM to ecu ?

It was just the one wire, yea,
