We are having problems getting a wireless racing wheel kit to pair with the receiver. We have successfully upgraded firmwares on the transmitter and receiver. We can not get them to pair. Antena is within the 4" and exposed. The correct buttons are being pressed, 5 and 8. Nothing.
Hi,
-
To which firmware versions have you upgraded the receiver and transmitter?
-
Could you try using a new battery or power the transmitter from an external power source?
-
Could you take a photo of the transmitter and show how the cables are soldered to the PCB?
I was able to make it work. During pairing it did not like the antenna placement. I clipped on a second antenna externally and paired it. Then hooked up the antenna in the enclosure and have zero problems. We made our own enclosure.
Does pairing require a higher signal level?
The Tx power level during pairing is always set to a low level and remains the same, regardless of the signal strength setting. Pairing should be performed with the devices as close as possible to avoid issues, such as the transmitter accidentally pairing with another receiver. In most cases, a distance of 4 inches is sufficient for successful pairing, but there are exceptions. Factors such as the number of RF devices in the environment, the positioning of the transmitter and receiver antennas, and other environmental conditions can affect the pairing process.
Therefore, the general rule is to ensure the receiver and transmitter are positioned as close to each other as possible during the pairing process.
