5 Cylinder Coils/Firing Order Setup

Hi all,

Just preparing a basemap for a audi 5 cylinder. In the V2 firmware, the firing order was 1,2,4,5,3 with an offset of 2.

Would this mean setting up the firing order in the V3 firmware would be as simple as offsetting the cylinders twice? So 4,5,3,1,2 instead?

Would that also mean that the injector and coil outputs would still mean cylinder one to injector /coil 1?

Or would it become cylinder one to injector/coil 4 in order to follow the new firing order.

Photos are attached for clarification;

OR

Offset is means is moved in your caes by 288 deg. (As in case os 5 cyl is 144 between cycles) just add 288 deg and will be fine. Also is depend how v3 will read cam trigger. I i woudl suggest timing lamp and check…

Thanks for that! Definitely, I always put a timing light on it whenever I update the firmware.

Firing order offseted by 2 also will work.
Assign you coils and injectors exactly as they are connected.
So if your coil1 output is assigned to coil at 1st cylinder just asign it like that.
The order is fully definned in Firing order table

I thought so, thank you for your input!

Let me know If it works. Mine still won’t start. And I don’t know why.

Just waiting for the engine back from the machine shop, won’t be any time soon unfortunately. I might take advantage of the fact I have a proper V2 map to break the engine in on, I don’t want to risk having issues during the break in procedure.
