Hi,
Can somebody please advise on the following regarding warning lamps on the display?
If I want to use an input LOW from for example, a car indicator switch, If I connect the wire to either an Analogue or a Digital input, how do I set the display to show this ‘icon’? Is it by treating it as a Button?
My display is used in a road car and therefore I need to have some Road Icons for legal compliance. Just hoping somebody can advise the best way to approach this.
A 2nd question, I have already added in a Traction Control Icon however, my Ecu outputs a +5v to drive an indicator with the other side of the indicator to ground. Previously I used an LED but I’d like to this time incorporate it into the display using the TC icon. What is the best approach to achieve this? Can a digital input accept a +5v input or would I have to use an analogue for this?
I’d like these warning icons to show as Dark Grey in normal operation but change to a specific colour on activation. Can somebody please point in the direction of how I’d do this? I’ve created them in the grey, just need to understand how to make them change colour on activation.
Hello
First you need to define the input via a rule.
The easiest way to connect the turn signals is to take a signal and feed it through a resistor to the analog input of the ADU.
Set a rule for the input (after the input voltage)
and then add an icon, icon position, and state to this rule.
Here you have more or less my setup where I also have turn signals, handbrake, dipped beam, stop, etc. only the inputs are under the CAN switch board but you change the inputs to analog inputs in the ADU and it should work. Analyze the inputs and make your own rules whatever you want. So that you don’t get confused about my traction control, because the ADU controls the presets via tables and aux out to RACE TCS. It may be a bit confusing but it sends a voltage from 0 to about 5V depending on the preset. On the main first page I have all the icons, go through all the icons on a given page marzec1.adu (27.7 KB)
Krzysztof, when you say to ‘feed the turn signals through a resistor’ are your turn signals +12v? I don’t quite understand what you’ve done here. Have you set up a voltage divider circuit then fed the analogue wire (+5v) to the dash? and used a resistor to drop the +12v to +5v?
