Can someone explain the principles of ‘Afterstart Ignition Lock’?
I.e why it may be desirable to lock the ignition angle for a brief period after the engine has just started?

I use it to have less variables when the engine is settling to it’s idle position. Could also be to help with Catalyst light-off time.
This also can make transition between cranking and idle/running state smoother.
Thanks chaps, I’ve just used it to solve a small dip in revs after the start.
