I am seeking clarification on the correct wiring setup for Launch Control on my Ecumaster DET3+ unit installed in a Subaru EJ20K.
For the hard Launch Control wiring, I used the Bipolar Ignition OUT, Bipolar Ignition INV OUT pins, and Ignition IN as described in the DET3 manual. This configuration provided a proper Launch Control function, but it introduced idle misfires. More critically, the car became undrivable due to misfires during normal driving, regardless of whether the Launch Control switch was ON or OFF.
Additionally, the DET3+ unit would freeze when I pressed the “Make maps permanent” button while the engine was running. This issue did not occur when Launch Control was not wired. I also used shielded wires, but that did not resolve the problem. The sensor is VR type. I am using the DET3+ in Piggyback mode and currently driving a 3‑port solenoid for boost control. TPS, MAF, RPM, and the inbuilt Boost reference are wired as inputs.
I previously tried the soft Launch Control method (intercepting the igniters), but it did not meet my requirements. I intend to use the crank angle sensor intercept and hard Launch Control instead.
Could you please provide me with the correct wiring setup for Launch Control on the EJ20K crank angle sensor intercept? I want to ensure I am not overlooking any required connections or misapplying the bipolar outputs.
