New software 3.032 is available! (update 3.032b)

Full day of tuning on 3.032c and the only thing we have issue with is the ACC enrichment. On and off the throttle at around 3k RPM we get a little misfire, this misfire didn’t happen in V2. We can’t get away from it. Could someone take a look and see if we can change something :slightly_smiling_face:
Thank you

I’m unable to append (join together) multiple log files recorded on an EDL-1.

fixed. Will be published in next version

Another issue I just noticed. Fuel pressure is shown correctly on the log, but the channel for differential fuel pressure shows 0 all the time.

It is more complicated. I’m working on it.

Will differential fuel pressure engine protection still work correctly?

Yes after modifications it will work.

Okay so not at the moment then (y)

Can anyone help as it’s stopping me from using the car.
Thanks

where in ur log the issue happens?

Also I can see that at 3000-3500 the dwell time is much shorter than below. Maybe it is the problem. However as derUltraTT asked, please give us log time where it happened

It’s in most of that log. It happens each time I go from overrun to light load at around 3k rpm. It’s as if the ACC is coming on and off.

I will look for the time stamp now.

we have different log.
Can you publish it ?

What I can see the dwell time correction are very strange.
Dwell should increase with the MAP not decrease.

What I would test:

  1. Set fixed dwell to 2.5ms first, disable all corrections
  2. Turn off overrun

Then check if it helps

What u also should do is set the ACC values at 0%/s TPS to 0…in ur case u get an ACC enrichment although u have negative TPS rate…in this situation u need a negative fuel correction…so u get hyper rich in those situations

When we are talking about ACC enrichment…i use MAP based ACC enrichment, which works quite good and i achieve better results with my engine than with TPS based while it is easier to handle.
But i am missing kind of an filter for the MAP rate (like for TPS rate). I see a lot of situtions where the MAP is very stable, but the MAP rate spikes:

MAP filter is already at maximum and it seems not just my setup specific thing, cause i also see those spikes in logs of other people here.
I workarounded it with a high threshhold, but i think i could reach even better results with a filter.

We have spent a few hours today mapping an engine in BMW E46. I will create a separate thread for some issues but regarding the acceleration enrichment we have been unable to get a good outcome for all areas with the current/new 3d table.
We have found that for low load it requires a lot more acc fuel for a given tps rate vs when the engine has load on it it requires much less fuel for the same tps rate. It has been tuned to try to balance both situations but it isn’t right. The ability to compensate the acceleration enrichment with a 2D table would help tune both of these different scenarios.

Suggestion to add a correction table to enable correction of the acceleration enrichment as a function of the map value.

Are u sure u expirienced a different required behaviour depending on the MAP?
I expirienced something similar, but as a function of TPS. At low TPS values it required more ACC enrich for a specific TPS rate than at higher TPS with same TPS rate. Theory wise this also makes sense, cause at wider throttle opening the same % TPS change results in less load/MAP change. I think cause of this we had the ACC enrich vs TPS table in V2 which worked well. With V3 i also couldn’t get a good ACC compromise between low and high TPS situations.
So i would suggest a 2D table ACC as a function of TPS.

But then i switched to MAP based ACC and with that i achieved very good results, while it was much easier to handle. I also expirienced no response differences between MAP and TPS based strat. But probably this is depending on the engine (1.8t in my case).
But probably u should give MAP based a try if u can’t reach good results with TPS based.

Edit:
According ur log in the other post, it seems, that u don’t use the asynch ACC enrichment. I expirienced a much better throttle response with this feature on.

Regarding the log, that is only a 30 minute section from a 2/3 hour stint, earlier on we did have an experiment with asynch acc enrichment especially when looking at the unresponsive throttle feeling.

You are possibly right regarding TPS, this would certainly help the situation if this could be implemented.

Regarding if the enrichment should be scaled as function of Map or TPS another tuner suggested map is a way it is implemented in other ECU’s. It would be even better if the option to choose the parameters such as a custom field would be even better, if this could be added in as a 2D custom correction table for the acc enrichment.
