Its not locked, i mentioned on another post, fuel pressure error channel wakes up and only works if you enable fuel stategy to include pressure regulator multiplier
Check here… JADzWIN aknowledged it i think he will fix it,
Would be good if “oped 2d/3d table” and “open parameters” option could import from project file.
Great - how you did it?
Some kind of automatic update???
No issue right now. Also calibration for Black not vor Classic is visible.
Two issues with one shot.
It was like that in 3.072
I will display partial import / export GUI with only selected given window parameters. I think it will be the best solution.
Hi @Jadzwin_ECUMASTER Can you please add the possibility to choose VSS too for the autoshift table:
This would be a great feature as the DQ500 gearbox actually has the shift table that references on VSS. If EMU Black can send this information via CAN to the DQ500 gearbox, I beleive this will make EMU Black very compettitive from the other ECUs that controll DQ500 by VSS signal.
Also here in this community, there are people that had to switch from EMU Black to other ECUs to be able to propperly controll this gearbox, as EMU was not able to.
Im involved in such a project and for now, only manual gear change is possible and by using the above table. The above table can only help to shift by rpm and not by VSS, something that confuses the DQ500 gear-changing logic.
Im open to send you a bunch of logs I collected tunning our project car with DQ500 gearbox.
It is doable but I need to understand the reuirement. You need for each gear the speed when to shift to the next gear ? Or for the given speed on x axis the required gear ?
We simply need the function/feature to change gears at a given speed! It can also be done by using a table or a logic function.
At a given speed the DQ500 itself in the TCU has the tables to shift by vehicle speed.
The Autoshift table I believe is intended to send the Upshift signal in Manual/Sport mode in a drag race application if you have the True Manual mode turned on in the TCU that would never Upshift itself and you can play around with the shifts from ECU for that case.
No this is not the case! The DQ500 will not shift properly if you dont send the signal from the EMU.
The next thing is that our DQ500 that was taken from an RS3 shifts gears even without VSS signal. This suprised me.
We need the logic into EMU Black to be able to send CAN messages to the TCU, that for a given VSS, gear change should happen.
Here a post on facebook where the car shifts with autoupshift enabled: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19ruCKnokp/?
Yes, you have to assign a vehicle speed input so that it is broadcasted in CAN to DQ500, based on that DQ500 will shift based on the logic in the TCU.
You can pick up the speed from ABS sensor or GPS to CAN etc. and assign as input in EMU Black.
That should sorm most of your problems.
The thing that it shifts gears even without vehicle speed is interesing, maybe the newer gearboxes have some rpm based on some failsafe mode. When I had some issues with the speed signal my DQ500 would not shift and it would be jerky.
I understand the desire to control the shift points from the ECU, but this is not really how DSG are intended to work. If the gearbox will decide to shift earlier it will not matter that you put your shift point higher than that.
Yes, but its in a drag race/ Maximum acceleration application as I mentioned above.
You can ask the TCU tunner to enable true Manual that would never shift, then configure in the Autoshift table your desired Max shift points based on RPM and the ECU will emulate the paddle Upshift when those conditions are met. This will allow you to control when you want the gearbox to shift on Maximum acceleration.
@solo Yes, your right at this point, but your perception also has errors!
Imagine a drag car, launching from the startline with wheelspin and hitting the limiter or rpm shift point in the autoshift table - it than engages the next gear without you wanting it to happen. Because of this, we need to have gear change startegy in EMU Black that controlls this by VSS and not only by RPM as it is now.
- We have VSS input from rear axle and it works great
- We have gearlock configured in the TCU in manual mode
- We tested both szenarios with auto upshift and tried to change gears with the gearselector(by hand)
- All these test gave us poor results when doing a launch start
- By having only the auto upshift possibility in the EMU Black, it gives very limited possibilities to use EMU Black in a Drag Race car that runs DQ500
- We need the posibility to change gears by VSS and this has to happen on the emu black itself
- I talked with almost 10 people who gave up EMU Black for other ECUs just because of the lack of this feature and Im KEEN to change this
@Jadzwin_ECUMASTER please lets take this serious as it will be a GREAT upgrade for people using EMU Black and DQ500 : )
If you spin, you either have haldex issues that only front wheels are spinning and the rears where you have the speed from are not or you have tires/surface issues.
I will not argue on, it might be a good option to have in some cases.
I went through it and was able to make it work with my car on emu pro but has same logic with autoshift by a custom table.
Yeah, we actually run full slicks but the track is not preped with glue and thus we have wheelspin. The car runs 800Hp+ and its only 1100Kg without any traction controll.
Thanks for all the inputs
Great project you did with the Honda+DQ500!
Hi
All the things you describe can be mapped inside the tcu. I do not get it why you want correct bad tune with emu.
Inside the tcu you can also map what wheels will be taken for the measurment, this is good when slip happens.
Slip shift strategy
Amax for Launch
Shifttables..
Better get a good tune.
Hi, I dont know how you defined that it is a *bad tune* ??
Did you ever go thorugh the process I described with EMU Black and DQ500? If you followed this community from the beginning, there are a few guys that did not manage to make DQ500 run as it should, especially in Drag racing. They had to switch to Maxx ECU.
We need the function for gear changing depending on VSS just as we have it for RPM. This will make a significant improvment on how the gearbox will behave. This is a function that Maxx uses too.
If the TCU software alone isn’t enough to make the gearbox shift as desired, I’d say that’s a poor calibration.
I’ve had years of experience with the DQ500 and have done a lot of testing; you can get it perfectly tuned even with high power output. And I don’t mean 800 PS. Road and drag
MaxxECU doesn’t send a signal by default when a certain speed is reached; you can set this up via a custom table or a function, but it isn’t standard.
At this point, I can only recommend that you look for a proper gearbox calibration rather than trying to find a workaround like this. It’s already starting to get complicated when you can only set a single VSS speed, rather than all four wheel speeds.
The thing is, simply shifting based on speed alone cannot take into account factors such as bringing the shift point forward due to rapid acceleration → Launch.
With so much power, and the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts happening so incredibly quickly, you need a top-notch strategy to ensure the DQ500 shifts cleanly without hitting the rev limiter.
MaxxECU doesn’t send a signal by default when a certain speed is reached; you can set this up via a custom table or a function, but it isn’t standard - correct but this makes the effect we need in our project. EMU Black has the processing ability to have this function.
We aim to use GPS to CAN to overcome the wheelspin, so like this, we shift at the desired speed.
