DBW issues with tuning evo 8

Hey guys finally getting my evo 8 tuned on v3 now I’ve got some DBW issues, it keeps telling me there is a short at my TPS main signal (this short follows if I reassign the signal somewhere else)
However in v2 I have zero issues with DBW and the analogs track perfectly fine.
I assume it may be something in my settings?
Can someone take a look, I had been able to get it to calibrate the other day, but now theres an issue that doesnt exist when switching back to v2.

thanks

Your problem is here:

Something is wrong with your settings as the TPS voltage is much higher than 2.55V in the log.
Set the Max valid voltage to 4.5V and min valid voltage to 0.4V, make DBW calibration and post the screen of autotune DBW window.

Thank you, I must have been confusing the readings on the logs. I’ll try this and report back.

Hey @Jadzwin_ECUMASTER this worked.

I need to test analog 6 now which should be the check signal. I understand how to do this in the table for 0-100%

Is there any more steps I need to follow to arrange the voltage settings for the dbw or did the calibration take care of everything and I should leave as is for tps and pps ?

Everything looks good for me.

Thank you! I was hoping it was just me being dumb about something.

One more question @Jadzwin_ECUMASTER am I able to run the tps from the tps signal? Or should I keep it how it is. I believe tps is running pps currently and analog is tps.

You dont need to rewire anythi g but you need setup properly tps sensor ( assign the analog input where the throttle pos sensor is connected) and pps sensor (assign input where the pedal is cobnected).
However if your autocalibration us working, then your settings must be correct.

Yea so currently I have tps as analog 5. And pps as TPS lead,
On v2 I had tps as tps, and pps as analog 5 I believe. I’m not sure there’s much consequence to running it either way,
It is set up now wiring that the
TPS main from the TB is analog 5.
TPS Sub is analog 6 (check signal)
Ecu TPS signal is wired to the pedal as B18 analog from the pedal.

Essentially signal 1 from the pedal is tps

I am not using signal two, but it could be a pps check or whatever.

Posting my link here again.

Read posts before and adter as well. The check should be connected as well. That gives you safety if something fails.

I actually went back and referenced this from my last topic hahaha
90% of my confusion is settled
Thank you buddy

Hey guys. Update. Car is being weird now. Giving it full throttle only takes it to 30% or so.
I am guessing it may have to do with my min and max ranges as I believe my tps is 2.24v at WOT this is the range that’s set on v2,
I will mess with it and see. I believe in v2 tps is 2.24v at wot. Analog 5 is .4 to 5v however.

This is the behavior in v2 from 0-100% throttle
TPS=tps, and analog 5 = pps.

In v3 I tried to switch tps from ain5 to tps and it wouldn’t calibrate due to a lack of movement.

What is connected on Analog in 6?

You should habe Pps1 and Pps2 (“check”)
And Tps1 and Tps2 (“check”)

That’s 4 things in total. “Disable when no rpm” and move pedal without throttlebody. Then only the 2 Pps should move.

Analog 6 is tps sub fromTB,
Analog 5 is tps main from TB,

TPS (b18) is pedal signal 1,
Pedal signal 2 I don’t have wired.

This works flawless in v2.

I think pps main should go from 0.5-4.5V.

The check often goes “half of main” so 0.25-2.25V

I guess you connected your “check” signal to pps main?

That means you eithe rewire the other signal of the pedal to the respective connector (maybe keep both when you’re already at it) or set your 100% of throttle range to 2.25V.

And 0% to 0.5V? Seems a little high. Should be 0.25V. But try i guess?

I was considering the same,
But wouldn’t have thought any different as it works in v2.
If v3 is particular about wanting to see .4-5v for pps that could be the issue.
I could simply re pin the pedal harness for now to verify.
I could input the 2.25v for pps max but I think this is where my errors originally came from.
