Software opinions

There is a staged injection strategy:

You are correct. I meant the second fuel line. Staged injection inst able to do what the second line can. I need a PW signal thars about 20% of the main injectiors.

It would be very helpful if we could set a standart saving/loading folder. I have my projects and logs saved on a different location (network folder) and not in “documents” and have to navigate often to that folder to load/save/compare projects or logs.

Thank you

Improve the current flat shift strategy in an H-pattern manual gearbox, wouldn’t incorporating the calculation of the instantaneous gear ratio (based on engine RPM and wheel speed) into the algorithm be better than just using a clutch switch as the only input?

Quote from sourcerer "wouldn’t incorporating the calculation of the instantaneous gear ratio (based on engine RPM and wheel speed) into the algorithm be better than just using a clutch switch as the only input? "
Not Really, because of the nature of shifting using Shift Cut happens while there is no Gear engaged in the transmission, (because you are shifting) RPM need to settle and lock in the gear ratio before assuming the correct Gear. So a clutch pedal is the way to go before any gear is detected/locked in.

hi is there any plan to add a WMI output for clients that used to use the v2 nitrous function to control wmi .
in v3 its not possible to use the nitrous function as is very different

With laptop connected to the ECU, it would be nice if we could download log files directly from the EDL-1, without having to remove the SD-card from the EDL-1. I know we can download them one at a time by opening them in the Graph-Log window, but it’s slow if you want to save a bunch of logs at once.

The downloading would be very very slow. The communication between ECU and EDL is about 15kb/s. So downloading 200MB log would take almost 4 hours…

What do you understand as WMI ?

He says WMI, he means use water methanol Injection.
J2Performance why you can’t use v3 nitrous ? Has also negative values in the fuel table, and positive values on the ignition plus you can set a FN (function button) with conidtion of what pressure you want it on, analog in if you have a methanol fuel level switch or level meter, and your specific boost, rpm .e.t.c e.t.c. Dont get confused by the progressive nitrous choice you can set this from 0% to 100% and unlimited time with no timer

I don’t think you understand my suggestion.

Hey @Jadzwin_ECUMASTER , I appreciate your continued updates to the software and V3 is great so far.

I have a few more suggestions to add to the list.

Feed-forward idle charge temp airflow compensation would go a long way. My car experiences idle charge temps between 15C and 65C depending on weather and heat soak. I am finding, particularly with ethanol, that required airflow drops significantly as charge temp increases. On a control range of 3.5% to 7% this could be a -15% airflow compensation, which leads to stalling if airflow fluctuates. I am experimenting with feed-forward ignition retard in the custom corrections to deal with this, but I’d prefer airflow options instead of dumping more heat into the exhaust. This issue has put me in dangerous situations a few times.

I also agree with @sourcerer , I’d like more armed state airflow options. If I set armed state to produce gentle decel in-gear, I find that if I go into neutral from higher RPM the throttle hangs. I have to choose between jerky engine braking and the ability to get back to the idle region. This could be solved with deeper DBW rate limits in the 2000+ rpm range, a gradual transition i.e. %/cycle rate, gear referencing, or other options. I have no guibo so I feel everything the throttle does.

I’m sure this is already addressed, but I am experiencing a lot of crashes when using the CSV log export for all channels. I have to be very judicious about the size I expert. The BugTrap report that reports these crashes also crashes! I don’t think you’re getting any of my crash reports.

Your continued efforts are much appreciated! This car is approaching a level of drivability that would have been impossible a decade ago.

OK tell me how to disable the timer as it only works for 25s and then it switches off .

you see if it had a set up like v2 nitrous with a few changes it would be so much easier to set up
@Jadzwin_ECUMASTER

Nitrous support in Black is designed mianly for Nitrous. What do you exactly need that is not present in current strategy to use it for WMI ?

Could you add “AFR target” to the logged parameters?
This would make life a little easier for those who prefer “AFR” over “lambda”.

it used to annoy me, but now, i dont mind because i put lambda target and lambda value over on top of each other at the Graph Log, you cannot see the small numbers there anyway. So i just see the deviation at the log between these two lines, and for the AFR i put the TUNE DISPLAY with the bright green letters bottom left. so i just put my curson on the graph log and then i can see the AFR value on my tune display
